FAQs

Do I get a license?

BEAT 101 is a State approved program that is recognized by both the State of Maryland and, also Industry wide. This certification qualifies you  for industry Pro-Cards, Industry events, and events. As a  Certified Makeup Artist you will now be first in line for employment for beauty industry positions. Such as a Beauty Advisors, Makeup Artists, Beauty Consultant, Spa representative, Sales Reps, Customer Service Representative. Etc. Licensing is no longer required however, our certification stands as proof that you have been trained properly and met the industry standard for certification. 

What will a grad do with this knowledge when they graduate?

With your certification, you will qualify to seek employment with any beauty product retailer, cosmetics brand/line, or prepare to open your own studio. We also offer select graduates the opportunity to become resident makeup artists. Again, you’ll have the skill, now you just need to be CONFIDENT and step out there and JUST DO IT!!! ☺

Is testing done at State Board?

All testing and certifications are performed on our premises. 

Will I get  my certificate if I do not complete my courses?

You will not pass this course if you do not complete, and upload all your assignments. 

Do I have to come in person to pass this course ?

In order to complete this course you have to show up for in-person. This makes 50 percent of your grade.

Can I request a 1098-T or EIN from school for tax purposes?

We are a certified private career school, we do not give out our EIN or Form 1098-T. Form 1098-T is used by eligible educational institutions to report for each student the enrolled amounts they received for qualified tuition and related expense payments. An eligible educational institution is a school offering higher education beyond high school. It is any college, university, trade school, or other post-secondary educational institution eligible to participate in a student aid program run by the U.S. Department of Education. This includes most accredited public, nonprofit and privately-owned–for-profit postsecondary institutions

What will I learn?

In this 40 hour program, you will learn basic skincare, facial techniques, highlighting & contouring, strip and cluster lash application, and much more! With the skills learned in this class, and self-confidence, you will be proficient and prepared with the skills needed to start servicing your clients.

What is included with the class?

Your kit includes everything you need to complete class successfully and, get started as you build your professional kit as a Pro MUA! You’ll have the skills needed to make wise investments as you begin your career with a few great tools at hand to get you off on your way!

Do we offer Financial Aid?

We a offer in house financing, if you qualify. There ARE some grants available through the State of Maryland, local organizations, and programs. Check with your local, city, and State or, our website for additional information. 

Is this class good for a “Hands On” kind of person?

YES! We now offer a hybrid class model. Which addresses all learning styles. Through pre-recorded videos, live video sessions, and in person. There is space for all learning types!

Grant Cancellation Policy

Refund  (Cancellation)  Policy  

If the School closes or discontinues a program, the School shall refund to each currently enrolled student monies paid by the Student for tuition and fees and monies for which the Student is liable for tuition and fees.

If the Student chooses not to enroll after the 7-day cancellation period, but before the first day of instruction, the School may retain the registration fee.

If, after the 7-day cancellation period expires, a student withdraws after instruction begins, refunds shall be based on the total contract price for the Program or program and shall include all fees, except registration fee,and any charges for materials, supplies, or books which have been purchased by, and are the property of, the Student. The minimum refund that the School shall pay the Student, who withdraws or is terminated after the 7-day cancellation period has expired and after instruction has begun, is as follows:

All fees paid by Student shall be refunded if the Student chooses not to enroll in or to withdraw from the school within seven calendar days after having signed a contract.

 

Proportion of Total Program or Program Taught by Date of Withdrawal Tuition Refund

               

 

                 Less than 10%    90% refund

                10% - 19%            80% refund

                20% - 29%            60% refund

                30% - 39%            40% refund

                40% - 50%            20% refund

                More than 50%    No refund

 

A refund due the student shall be based on the date of withdrawal or termination and paid within 60 days from the date of withdrawal or termination. The date of withdrawal or termination is the last date of attendance by the Student.

The Student Personal Practice Kit is non-refundable.
